Stuff for the Blog ... please!

Dear team
I need your help to resource the blog.  Send me material.  Anything relevant to the group. Do you have an opinion on an exam etc?  What are your study habits?  Who will finish their exams first? last?  How do you break up the day while studying? Do you have a reflection? Do you want to address the class of 2014?  Do you want to scream and make it all go away?
Why do you come to school to study instead of staying home? Have you found any good websites to help you prepare? What song or music are you listening to while you study? English students, send me a paragraph about the exam.  Psych students ... the same. Anything.  Dig deep.  Prize for the most innovative contribution.

Positive Place ...

Most of you are going to spend some time in the Hall in the next few weeks as you sit those end of year exams.  Look at the Hall below.  It will be a positive place for you.  This is a place where you will demonstrate to the examiners that you have an excellent understanding of the study designs. Do not fear the Hall ... it is a place of opportunity for you.

English Exam Cram

I was eating breakfast on Sunday morning, turned on the radio, and heard this! A special radio event about the English Exam on Wednesday.  I am not an English teacher but it sounded useful!

In the News ...

Thank you to Fiona for this image from the Herald Sun recently.  I wonder why they would select MacRob?

Relax ...

I discovered this radio station this year and like it.  My wife does not!  Buddha radio.  It has nothing to do with religion.  Just chill out music.  You can study and listen to this at the same time!

Buddha is available on DAB radio.  There is a Buddha Radio App.

Do not expect the door knock ...

This week's exams ... (27th to 31st October)

12B Reflection ...

Speech Night Awards ...

Before you know it, you will be on that stage at the Town Hall, everyone will be watching you, and the exams will be a distant memory.  Speech Night is coming.

Since Valedictory, we have been processing all of your SAC results for the year and working out the award winners for Speech Night. This process is not yet complete, however, like the Year 12 References, it makes us realise (again) what an impressive group we are working with. Sooooooooooo many talented students and the competition is very tight for those awards. For every winner, there are losers - this is just about the hardest task for the whole year ... to process data and know that, for example, student 11 misses out on receiving a General Excellence Award when in any other school setting, they would be close to Dux! When the winners receive the awards on Speech Night I will congratulate them, of course, but I will also be thinking of those that just missed out ... and they will never know how close they were.

Thanks to Ravali (again) for these images and video of the last Tuesday.

Valedictory ...

If you have good images etc, send me a link.  Here are some images and a poor quality video of the House Captains doing their thing.

Now this IS a reflection by Jenny ...

Jenny does have the X factor.  I received this video after I had arrived home after Valedictory and it just capped off a wonderful day!  You were all magnificent and the attendance was outstanding.  Special thanks to Tarli and Vivian for being MCs for the event and to the form captains for those entertaining and heartfelt mini speeches.  Nham My and Taran added that musical touch, as did the House Captains.  Jessica and Shona did their useful professional job when they said goodbye on behalf of the group.  It was hard to concentrate driving home thinking about it all!!!

Good luck to our Japanese students who have their Oral Exam today.

It is Thursday, which means it is time to throw off any thoughts of procrastination and get down to some core exam preparation.  Make a simple and achievable daily plan and tick it off the list when completed.  Reward yourself when you do.  Lots of achievable mini goals are less intimidating than one huge one.  Believe in yourself.  What is ahead of you is achievable and it will be behind you soon.
