Happy?

Now that you have your ATAR, are you happy?  We all hope so.  Some will be very happy, some will be disappointed.  You are not defined by your ATAR although some of the people around you may give it more attention than it deserves.  The media will be full of this ATAR stuff for a few days and there is always pressure on MacRobians for obvious reasons.  If you gave it your best shot, you can do no more than that.  Celebrate with your friends and/or support them at this time if necessary.  Consult Ms Serpless and Ms Puszka if appropriate.  
Come together on Tuesday for Final Assembly in the Balcony.  This is your last formal school activity ... forever!   Did you watch Angelena's reflection video from the top of the Empire State Building?  Amongst other things, she mentions the Aths Sports and the Happy song.
That was certainly an integral part of the Class of 2014 and will long be remembered.

Review of 2014

Thanks to Jessica, Shona, Nhan My, Taran, Vivian, Shiwa, Mary (year 11) and Anamika (year 11) for contributing to the review of year 12, 2014 today in the Function Room.  The meeting went for more than 2 hours and Mr Sharp took 4 pages of notes based on the student comments.  Our aim is improve the year 12 program for future groups.  If you have some constructive comments on how to improve year 12 in the future, please email us.

ATAR nightmare

I was introduced to the concept of the 'ATAR nightmare' today by one of the group.  I had never heard of this before.  Between now and Monday morning, some of you will experience anxiety.  This is normal.  Seek support if you need it but the time has come and gone to control your ATAR.  Think positively and know that, soon, you will wonder what the fuss was all about.  People that matter will judge you by the content of your character and not by this statistic.
  

Year 9 Orientation Day on Wednesday ...

Another group about to start their 4 year journey!  This year's year 9 orientation included an Expo which was a great idea of ... Ms Pride and Ms Howe.  Current and/or next years leaders, such as House Leaders, SRC, Sport etc, had their own booth and activities for the new students.  Superb.
